I commend you, Dave. I got a hundred or so pages in, enjoyed it thoroughly, and then put it down and haven't picked it up again. It is a fat tome (but so is Overy's bio of Hitler and Staling that I am halfway through!).

One of my favorite Ike quotes (paraphrased): Plans are useless. Planning is essential. Sums up my feelings toward outlining.
