I am here in St. Paul (or its environs) and alive and well. Most of my possessions made it as well, although the long string of thunderstorms between Mauston and the St. Croix resulted in a depressing amount of water damage. (I've already put in a claim with the U-Haul people.) But, I am here at my parents' house for the interim (lease starts June 1st), with dogs and Internet and Twins games on the TV and home-cooked meals and lots of lovely allergy-triggering greenery. Life ain't bad after all. How's by y'all?

(And yeah, I owe a May Day installment of the Secret City. It'll be a little late.)

Now I can check out some of those restaurants from that article! Well, when I get another check I can :-) (I loved the anthropological tone of the article: These modest, hard-working folk never knew better than to just keep eating the same old steak, but now they have options!)
