And then Bush turned around and lied to them. Thing is, they're smart enough to know it was a lie.

Of course he did; that's his way. But, yeah. I'm just always happy to see someone take the opportunity to call him on his shit in person -- particularly seeing as how dissent is no longer allowed within 5000 feet of the man.

It's so nice to see that someone besides Feingold has the guts to call Bush on his bullshit. Now if we could just get some more of our elected officials to do the same!

Thanks for the link. I'm going to save it and use the article for my social justice/kids can make a difference unit in the upcoming school year.

Dissent makes elephants happy!

You're welcome. I was realizing after I posted this that there are a bunch of teachers on my f-list. Seems like the kind of thing y'all deserve some credit for.

That's the mistake, actually. Having scholars urge it. We need to get sponsorship on a NASCAR racer, or something. Have a hick run around in front of the white house in a crash suit plastered with "Free Darfur" and "Torture makes Jesus cry" patches.

It'd probably have to be Billy Graham, actually. I'm beyond expecting him to listen, really; but the more people throw it back in his face, the worse he looks, I think.

I might be able to arrange that...
