that would be fabulous--more Scorpius please! Please! Perhaps this can take up some of the slack that the end of BSG will leave...Boy, did I love Farscape (the first few seasons that is)...when they sexed it up towards the end it wasn't quite as good....
Definitely more Scorpius! I hope it's not just 10 eps of Rygel and the other puppets being silly. Not that I don't love Rygel and Pilot, but I want my John and Aeryn!
Ditto that. Altho' now that John and Aeryn have been co-opted by that crappy Stargate whatever, it might be hard to get them back...Still, I'd rather have Rygel & Pilot than nothing--and I suspect that Dargo et al could use the work...
Was Stargate canceled? I was so disgusted by Sci Fi channels recent programming choices that I ignore everything but BSG. And I think I missed the Peacekeeper Wars--or at least I don't remember D'argo dying--so that's a drag, but as long as I get me some Scorpy I can be happy! Now that you've reminded me, I think it's time to revisit Farscape--netflix here I come.
I find BSG riveting, but you have to be in the mood for bleakness and melodrama, and I'm not always. And the stand-alone filler eps are usually not that great. That said, season 2 was pretty good, and season 3 was an absolute killer--and I like that Ron Moore is part of the fandom community and understands his roots and responsibilities. Also, I highly recommend his podcasts; they are often very interesting meditations on craft.
I guess that I like dark, but not bleak, usually. I liked the miniseries a lot, though, and I liked Adama and Starbuck as characters. (Although part of the arc of the first season seemed to be all about creating/exploiting insecurity in Starbuck, which annoyed me.) But the first season episodes I saw were pretty uneven, and I wasn't trusting that the writers could really back up all the sturm und drang of the Cylons' supposed plan. The deal-breaker, for me, was my dislike of the characters Baltar and Six, and my disinterest-ranging-to-desire-to-smash-the-screen whenever they appear. From what I'm told, they continue to get about the same amount of screen time throughout the series, so I doubt I'll pick it up again.
It's a bit weird, because a lot of friends and people whose opinions I respect really enjoy the show, yourself included. But, then, some of them don't like "Farscape" (or "Buffy," or what have you) so I guess sometimes reasonable folks just disagree :-)
BSG is *very* bleak. So much so in fact, that at the end of Season 2 I almost didn't go back--I like tragedy pretty well, but after a point it's a bit *too* tragic. But I did go back, and I'm not sorry for I think the show is very interesting, and if it is a bit uneven--well, with the time pressure they are on, it's lucky to be as good as it is. I was not a super fan of Six, but she gets MUCH more interesting as the show goes along--surprisingly so in fact--and I became mesmerized by the Shakespearean depths to which Baltar will stoop--and his character development is also quite surprising--so if they were the main reason you tuned out, perhaps you might try again sometime. Or not. I did like Buffy and Farscape quite a bit, tho' for entirely different reasons--Firefly I could never get into. But I enjoyed Serenity. Go figure!

Now, who's going to pick up Firefly...?

D'argo was dead at the end of Peacekeeper Wars, but I figure nothing's permanent in that universe.

I hope, too, that enough people watch it for them to order more than 10 eps . . .
