Personal Plug #4682

Just a quick note to let y'all know that my review of Stardust (the film) is up at Strange Horizons.

I, um, didn't love it.

It's funny, I read the un-illustrated version of Stardust, and I don't think I got out of it what you got out of it -- dark and bucolic, wonder and menace. I'm starting to wonder if Gaiman just works better with pictures.

I think that's entirely the case. Most of his straight prose doesn't do a lot for me, but in the collaborations he (mostly) shines.
