That's the saddest movie I've seen in a really long time. It's sort of like what Raymond Carver would write if he wrote about twenty-somethings and zombies.

Heh. Except that I laughed, and mostly Carver just makes me want to dig Carver up and hit him.

Now see, *that*, that would be funny.

It took awhile but I finally came to a point where I could accept that Carver was a good writer. I still haven't quite figured out why so many people are determined to believe he's the *only* writer.

My problem with Carver isn't that I think he's a bad writer, but that he belongs to that genre of Bleak and Hopeless storytelling that is all about how awful humans are. I don't subscribe to that notion, and I get nothing out of the work.
