I'm not convinced the strengths of the Coens and the strengths of Chabon are as good a fit as the strengths of the Coens and the strengths of McCarthy. But then, I'm a bit of a Coens agnostic anyway.
They've stumbled a couple of times, so I'm not of the they-can-do-no-wrong mindset; but I think that the low-key humor of the book is a great fit for them. The noir aspect, too. It'll be interesting to see.
