Things That Are Awesome

Aside from the news in my previous post, that is.

Top of the list has to be something which is related to something that is not awesome. By now you have probably heard that Terry Pratchett was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. As a result, he's donated $1 million to Alzheimer's research, and Pat Cadigan (aka [livejournal.com profile] fastfwd) has started a project called Match It For Pratchett, for Terry's fans to equal his donations. Details are at the site. There's probably not a disease that scares me more than Alzheimer's, personally; this is pretty much the definition of a good cause.

Other awesome things:

A gorgeous little Flash game at the BBC site, called Questionaut, which is suitable for all ages. Click around in your airship, and answer elementary science questions for more fuel. Kind of like that smarter-than-a-whatever-grader show, except awesome. (The game is made by the same people who did Samorost, which is also awesome, perhaps even moreso.)

Awesome (unless you are easily offended by religious humor): Bible Fight, brought to you by the folks at Adult Swim. It's basically Streetfighter, only you can choose to play Jesus, Mary, Eve, Noah, Moses, or Satan. Less awesome: I canNOT get past Satan. Damn him.

Geometry is kicking my ass! (also, I use my own way of doing all of the math, apparently. Right, but thank god they didn't make me show my work.)

Heh, yeah; I missed more geometry questions than anything else, too. I blame my HS teacher.

One of the only questions I missed was because I don't know how many "pence" are in a "quid" or something. Damn BBC.

I know. The nerve of them, having their own country and all!!!

Haddayr sang that choral piece (in Bible Fight) years ago when she was in a choir (she sang the soprano part with the ridiculously high notes).

Also, I am unable to get past Eve. God, I suck.

I was playing as Eve when I played. It was pretty easy up until the damned Devil.

I was playing as Moses and then switched to the devil. Apparently, as Satan, I can beat the crap out of just about anyone as I got up to Jesus before I had to stop because I had to make dinner.

It's OK; you can admit that you love Jesus and didn't want to hurt him.

He just looks so cute and vulnerable in that loin cloth.

I cannot believe that no one has made the obvious joke about getting Satan behind me. C'mon people, just because it's Monday...

Maybe it's the Holy Week thing. Maybe they gave up Bible jokes for Lent?
