Time Out Chicago expresses anticipation for Superpowers (and for Jennifer Stevenson AKA smokingpigeon's new novels as well!). It has me down as a Chicago writer (which I was until about a year ago, so), but I don't mind the mistake :-)

You are overestimating my social skills :-) I went alone and talked to almost no one! I did talk a little bit to some guy who did a radio show at Northwestern, but that was only because he was sitting at my table. Oh, and I talked to Maureen McHugh because I knew her, but then I was exhausted and had to go home.

See, I MAY have talked to you. It was packed that night. I ended up schmoozing because I was there with my roommate - who was there with Jessa. (keeping my motuh shut) I was the supplier of the PA (ie - the bass amp that ended up braking and no one offered to ever fix, thanks a LOT BOOKSLUT!), and my roommate was wrangler of stuff.

Yeah, it was vaguely schmoozy. and weird. I love when people ask me what I think of bookslut. I just smile and say nothing. The Chicago book scene is really, really weird.
