I Think This Was Intended As a Slam . . .

. . . but I'm pretty OK with it, actually:

"Imagine if Syndrome from The Incredibles decided to write a novel about Supers, and you've got Superpowers."

I ain't telling you where I found it.

Heh. I gotta read that.

There's not much more to it than that, really. I MEAN THE REVIEW/MENTION NOT THE BOOK.

[identity profile] the-flea-king.livejournal.com 2008-10-03 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
And I meant the book!

Google says it comes from Atomic Think Tank.

It's a weird idea. I'd have thought that if Syndrome tried to write a novel about Supers, he might have come up with something like Dark Knight Strikes Again.

Something that's awful on nearly all levels except for the fucked-upness, you mean?

I thought of DKSA as a superhero story by someone who had come to hate superheroes.

That makes a lot of sense. Now I kinda want to read it again . . .

OT, but...

...I meant to say... Sorry about... you know... The Thing That Happened.

In Cleveland we used to have this saying: "NEXT year..."

Eh, grumble. What I want to understand is how the rules changed . . . weren't the Yanks and BoSox tied a few seasons back, and the Yanks got the postseason based on the record between the two teams?

Yeah, I was wondering about that myself... I never heard of that kind of tie-breaker before.

Getting compared to anything in The Incredibles would be fine with me - loved that movie. By the way, Dave, I saw your book at the State St. Borders here in Chicago, and turned it cover-out for maximum visibility.

Thanks, Pete! I also liked The Incredibles, although my one major issue with it was the narrative bias against Syndrome as a kid.
