I'm with you on Brazil. I love Gilliam's stuff but that's the apex. Have you seen La Jetee, the film that 12 Monkeys was based on? I think it does just as much or more, and far more succintly. I think it's like 12 minutes long?

I haven't seen La Jetee. Is it on DVD? One of the things I most enjoy about 12 Monkeys is Brad Pitt's performance.

Hm. I don't see a non-import version available. Beware, too, of a version with English narration. The original is a French film, entirely in stills, with narration (and subtitles). It's very subtle and even more devastating. (And apparently 28 minutes long, not 12.) But no Brad Pitt :-)
