Motherf&%$ers

Bush commutes Libby's sentence.

I didn't think I had any outrage left, but &*#$@!

IMPEACH THE FUCKERS NOW.

Oh, what a total wankstain he is.

All I can muster at this point is cynicism. That and a strong desire to stockpile bottled water and semi-automatic weaponry.

Now, see, that's starting to sound like a good idea... except who, exactly, do you suppose would end up in the White House after that?

I meant Cheney too. ESPECIALLY Cheney.

Years of commitment to nonviolence and peace are preventing me from thinking the words "kill" and "die" over and over.

I'm of the school of thought that bad things are happening and that I can't stop them no matter what I do.

[identity profile] jamiam.livejournal.com 2007-07-03 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but then what? Would it go to Pelosi?

Somehow, that seems much too much to hope for.

[identity profile] the-flea-king.livejournal.com 2007-07-03 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, probably true.

[identity profile] jamiam.livejournal.com 2007-07-03 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Besides, the prospect of handing over an entire branch of government to the opposite party without an actual election freaks me out. For all that leaving the executive branch in the hands of the current party freaks me out almost as much.

And for all that the current voting system seems at best unreliable and at worst completely corruptible...

I need a tin foil hat. OMG.

I think this proves it.

I'm numb.

[identity profile] scarypudding.livejournal.com 2007-07-03 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Best part? Because it's a commutation, not an outright pardon, Libby can still plead the Fifth to any questions anybody wants to ask him.

[identity profile] psamphire.livejournal.com 2007-07-03 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
The upside of this is that it pretty much publicly confirms what we've known all along, that Libby was taking a fall for his bosses. Bush has admitted this by pardoning him, so he can please his shrinking base. It only adds to the sense of republican corruption and cronyism, and it'll hurt them in the long run.

Yep. My response exactly. I shrugged.

Actually, your post is probably why I shrugged when I heard about this. Less me being numb; more me nodding in approval as the Neocons spiral around the drain.

Depends on your definition of 'win.'

And possibly 'election.'
