(Formerly) Local Boy Makes Good
Time Out Chicago expresses anticipation for Superpowers (and for Jennifer Stevenson AKA
smokingpigeon's new novels as well!). It has me down as a Chicago writer (which I was until about a year ago, so), but I don't mind the mistake :-)

Joe's writing is FINE, I just can't stand him as a person. He's kind of a dick. It's a long story, and 100% a personal thing. But then again, I'm not the only one with stories about him that I know. But again, my thing with him is TOTALLY personal, and has nothing at all to do with the caliber of his writing. I just thing he's a total douchewaffle of a person. :D ha.

That was also the night I first met my roommate (I mean, we hung out the first time that night, we knew we were gonna be roommates), and stuff.
Wouldn't that be FUNNY if we actually talked, and like, didn't even KNOW it?

See, I MAY have talked to you. It was packed that night. I ended up schmoozing because I was there with my roommate - who was there with Jessa. (keeping my motuh shut) I was the supplier of the PA (ie - the bass amp that ended up braking and no one offered to ever fix, thanks a LOT BOOKSLUT!), and my roommate was wrangler of stuff.
Yeah, it was vaguely schmoozy. and weird. I love when people ask me what I think of bookslut. I just smile and say nothing. The Chicago book scene is really, really weird.
