I'm very happy that your son enjoyed it; one of the things that I've been unsure about is how adult a book it is, and how YA. A couple of people were asking me whether it would be appropriate for their 12- and 13-year-olds, and I had no good answer other than "depends on the kid."
Also, if I find an online superpowers store, I will be sure to pass the information on to you for him :-)
