Oversocialization Makes For a Dull Blog
May. 27th, 2008 12:43 pmWisCon: despite the illness which felled a wide swath of the convention, I had a good time. Much laughter and lots of hugs, and good chats with people I only knew from online. The launch party went well, I think, and the novella was well received. Good food, good beer, good Guest-of-Honor speeches and Tiptree presentation. I find, though, that I'm a little frustrated with the brevity of my interactions with nearly everyone at the con. I'm hoping I'll get a chance over the next year or so to actually travel to the places where some of these folks live, and spend some quieter time with them.
Friday afternoon a few of us sneaked away to see the "Indiana Jones" movie, which was kinda terrible. I may have more to say on that later, but I talked it to death over the weekend so maybe not.
Superpowers gets a mention at SciFi.com (Thanks to JJA!) and at novelist Debra Parmley's Make Believe Mondays blog.
Tomorrow I get to go to the MPR studios and record an interview for a BBC show. I find that I am more excited about seeing the inside of a public radio operation than anything else. This will come as a terrible shock to most of you, but I am kind of a geek.
