Mumble Herder

I just read this one a couple weeks ago. I think I liked it more than you did from the start -- as you say, Tower has a gift for description, which is more often where the humor resides than in the plot. I found the stories quick and enjoyable reads, but they hardly seemed heralds of the phenomenal talent I've seen Tower described as having.
