(Sorry you're exiled from your office, BTW.)

Dood, if you're so bored you could always log on to IM to prevent my KILLING MYSELF FROM BOREDOM.

Although I confess if you do, I won't get any work done, but that doesn't seem to be happening, anyway . . .

Damn it, Greg beat me to that joke!

Because he's a faster writer than me.

This is Tolbert Law of Writers #4: The best way to start up a bunch of writers talking is to give them a way to talk about themselves. All writers have a speed. Thus, the talking. The neverending talking.

Corollary: Nothing bores more than a writer talking about process.

Heh. The thing is, I'm not even supposed to be here--I'm supposed to be somewhere writing (at my own pace) and being productive and stuff. So I'm going to be leaving ANY MINUTE NOW.

You're probably right on both counts. (Definitely right on the Corollary.)

Exiled, with nothing on the internet to read but a lot of people debating the finer points of their writing process.

I mean, I understand that these conversations serve some kind of community-building function. It's like the genre-boundary discussions. I'm just so done with it.

I declare you the official ender of internet slapfights - as soon as you get bored they have to end.[1]

Use your powers responsibly.

[1] Except for me, since I am the official starter of all slapfights

Yeah, I'm with you. And I'm SO with you on the genre-boundary stuff. The crap thing is that now that I sold my book to a mainstream house I'll bet I'm going to get asked about it. Bleargh.

*snerk* Let's start a community in which people do NOT talk about their writing process. With mandatory updates.
