Two-Movie Day

snurriJuno is hilarious and wonderful and y'all should go see it. Ellen Page just rocks. Michael Cera is subtle and noble and ridiculous. Jennifer Garner is actually kind of heartbreaking. ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
haddayr and I both felt the dialog rang a little false at the beginning, but either it got better or I got used to it and I laughed more and harder than I have in a long while.
Afterwards, Haddayr and I stopped by Dreamhaven, had dinner at her house, and she handed me off to her husband for the evening flick.
I Am Legend is, for me, as missable as any film with Will Smith. Nothing against the man himself--he's hammy at times, but otherwise generally solid. But the vehicles he chooses are invariably shiny and noisy and forgettable. Lots of tension in this one, and if a blockbuster is what you're in the mood for then that's what you'll get. I have yet to read the book (novella?) myself, but according tojanradder there were significant and unwelcome changes. Plus, all the CGI in the world.
