For those of you who did not attend: by Sunday the hotel was plastered with flu warnings and admonishments to wash our hands. Parties with food were provided with latex gloves. Hand sanitizer was at every door on the party floor. Employees in hazmat suits removed dirty dishes, discarded napkins, and fallen guests. A portable vomitorium was parked in front of the registration desk, and numerous beasts were sacrificed in hopes of appeasing the plague spirits. In the dealer's room a promising young short fiction writer rent his garments and tore his hair out in clumps, confessing to crimes of the heart against postal worker and posthole-digger alike. Still the gods would not relent.
