Paper Cities, An Anthology of Urban Fantasy

Today marks the release of Paper Cities, An Anthology of Urban Fantasy, with stories by (deep breath): Forrest Aguirre, Barth Anderson, Steve Berman, Darin Bradley, Stephanie Campisi, Hal Duncan, Mike Jasper, Vylar Kaftan, Jay Lake, Paul Meloy, Richard Parks, Ben Peek, Cat Rambo, Jenn Reese, David Schwartz, Cat Sparks, Anna Tambour, Mark Teppo, Catherynne M. Valente, Greg van Eekhout, and Kaaron Warren.

Just take a look at those names for a second. If that alone isn't worth your $14.95 ($10.17 if you order from Amazon right now), then maybe you are allergic to paper? Not to mention that it was edited by superstar Kat Sedia, and is being put out by the eager new press on the block, Senses Five. This anthology has been getting killer reviews, and pleased as I am to be included, I'm mostly waiting to get a hold of my contributor's copies so I can read what everyone else has written.

My contribution, "The Somnambulist," is a dreamy sort of story, with a talking squirrel, melty cheese, and the big lake cabin in the sky. Maybe it's about how we sometimes talk ourselves into loving someone just because they love us, or maybe it's about a suburban magician who needs someone to fight dragons for him. Maybe it's neither. I hope you enjoy it.
