1. I am one of the interviewees in Locus magazine this month. Lest that make you reluctant to pick up a copy, the other interviewee is Connie Willis, so.

2. Paper Cities, the World Fantasy Award-nominated anthology in which my story "The Somnambulist" appears, is now available on the Kindle.

3. Not so much an announcement, but I will be dropping by the Twin Cities Book Festival tomorrow at some point, so if you're going to be there let me know and we can look for each other.

4. This is funny:

1. [livejournal.com profile] charlesatan interviewed me for the Nebula Awards website.

2. In case you were wondering, the Pope is still an asshole. I can't even comment beyond that, the whole thing makes me so angry.

3. GIANT FOSSIL NORWEGIAN SEA MONSTER!!! I don't understand why they named it "Predator X," though; no Public Enemy fans at the Natural History Museum of Oslo University?

4. In other dinosaur news, VICIOUS CHICKEN RAPTORS!!!

5. Last night I watched The Spirit of the Beehive, which was astounding. Did one of you tell me about this? The influence of Ana's character on Ofelia in Pan's Labyrinth is obvious. Fernando Fernán Gómez is in it, too. I wish I could speak about it coherently, but it's one of those films I need to digest for a while and watch again before I can even figure out what I think. What I feel, though, is that this is a film you should all see if you haven't already.

Thing One: Today I am interviewed by Gwenda over at Shaken & Stirred as part of the Summer Blog Blast Tour organized by Colleen Mondor. (You can follow the rest of the interview fun over at Colleen's blog.) After the initial nervousness of this interview thing, I'm starting to sort of enjoy it. This one was particularly fun.

Thing Two: My friend Derek Hill, fellow first-year Odyssey student and all-around fine human being, has a film book out about, well--the title is Charlie Kaufman and Hollywood's Merry Band of Pranksters, Fabulists and Dreamers: An Excursion Into the American New Wave. It's out in the UK, that is, and will soon be out here. Pretty much I'd want to read this one even if I didn't know Derek was an awesome writer.

Thing Three: More Secret City tomorrow, I promise. Might not be any for a couple of weeks after that, though, with WisCon impending.

Thing Four: THE SHOWDOWN.
