The only Twins I see are Knoblauch and Rondell White, which is a relief. One can't help noticing that both had significant dropoffs in performance after early promise.

Date: 2007-12-14 01:15 am (UTC)I think part of the trouble is that the steroids now are different from the ones that killed Alzedo; they aren't safe, necessarily, but they're different enough for the players to be convinced or convince themselves that they're worth the risk. It doesn't make it less stupid or less disappointing, though.
It's been a pretty sordid year in sports. I wonder, though, if that isn't largely because it's all under more scrutiny now than in the past. Whether that's a good or a bad thing . . .

Part of the whole silliness of sports' fans (and I know I'm silly) is forming these imaginary connections to these guys, you know? Omar's son is the same age as mine and his name is also Nicholas and if Omar had turned out to be using while he was an Indian...well...
That was a tangent, but...sad, yes.
