I mean, the reason for the culling is that elephants have been doing extraordinarily well in SA in recent years. But it just makes me sick that the best solution anyone can come up with is machine-gunning entire families of them.

I know this makes me a tree-hugger (and so what? Trees are awesome), but I really do think of elephants as people. This is depressing.
