I haven't read any HIghsmith, but I picked up a free book at work that seems fantastic so far: THE TALENTED MISS HIGHSMITH (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/03/books/03book.html). Even without knowing anything about the subject, I found the first few pages captivating. Just FYI. :-D
