I have decided that I can boil my criteria for the woman who will tame this wild heart (stop laughing) down to one requirement. So that y'all know what to shoot for.*

She must be AWESOME.

You may now return to boring me. (Seriously, what is with the Intranets today?!?)

Shall I let my tongue hand out the side of my mouth when I throw the rock hand?

Whiskey, done and done. And I mean done.

(And thanks :-))

The tounge part really issn't important. but a look of intense, um, awesome (heh) is.

Proximity to your own reflection in the Bean (see my flickr, or Queen Of Subtle (on the ElJay known as [livejournal.com profile] f_o_n_y for reference) while throwing said rockhands gets you more awesome.

the whiskey needs to be Irish whiskey, mostly because it is tasty. Tequila is also good.

(and as far as the writing thing goes, um, well, see my username. some people get dorky about music, me? I get dorky about books. ask me about the time I accosted John Wesley Harding in the Borders I used to work at. That was HILARIOUS.)

BEAN!

Mm, Irish whisky yes, but mostly bourbon. 'Cuz in my other pants I am William Faulkner.

(Dorky about books = AWESOME, of course. I am asking you about the time you accosted John Wesley Harding!)

See, I've never done the bourbon, mostly because I'm all about the Jamison. Ask [livejournal.com profile] infanttyrone. Actually, don't. He knows my shame.

He also knows where I keep my tequila. But since he doesn't like it much, he doesn't ask me to share. Which is part of why i like tequila. I never have to share, since everyone fears it so. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I keep the tequila in the open, but always hide the whiskey.

(actually, I never hid the whiskey from [livejournal.com profile] infanttyrone. He is an awesome roommate and I never have to worry about him depleting my stash. ANYWAY)

(I was coming back from lunch, and I saw a tall, good looking gentleman coming into the Borders I used to work at. I totally did a double take, and sure enough, it was him... totally beelining for where Misfortune was shelved. I beat him there, and started babbling about how much I loved the book and how I've been a fan since, oh, the 80's. He looked at me funny, but was very gracious, especially since I had just made the book my staff pick. I'm sure he doesn't get accosted much. I mean, HE IS AWESOME AND BRITISH AND HAWT, but still.

I sometimes miss working in a bookstore, but then I remember how much I used to hate my life and want to die. I like working for a publisher MUCH MUCH MORE. I miss the free books from ALLLLLLL publishers though. *sigh*)

Tequila: it clears the sinuses!

I'm sure that Mr. Harding was pleased, if initially bemused.

What publisher do you work for nowadays?

Tequila, it pickles the brain! (I figure it also keeps it intact for posterity!) (I got a bottle of Patron for x-mess, I have yet to crack the seal...mmmmm)

I miss meeting authors. Coolest? Er. Hmm. Probably him. I also got to meet William Gibson. That was freaking amazing.

I am an accounting associate (more fun than it sounds) at IPG/CRP/Trafalgar Square. I LOVE MY JOB. (anywhere that will let me come to work in chucks, jeans, an alkaline trio hoodie, with all of my tattoos... AWESOME. i am also not even the weirdest or most tattooed one here. yay!)

Ooh, you met Gibson? Cooool. I've become a bit jaded and there aren't a lot of authors I'd get fanboyish over, but he's one.

Sounds like a cool job!

Y'know, sometime we should get some drinks, me and you and [livejournal.com profile] infanttyrone. ACTUAL REAL-LIFE INTERACTION.

That would be sweet.

The trick is to get him sitting still long enough for a drink. Dude is the hardest working man EVAR. Seriously.

and Gibson? Just as weird as you would imagine.

I would get all week kneed over: Jeff Noon, Cory Doctorow, Amy Hempel.

I DID get all idiotic when I interviewed Grant Morrison. Holy shit. I think I'll be internet famous forever for that one. But OH MY GOD HE WAS SO COOOL. And so, so SO Scottish. I couldn't understand a fucking word he said.
