Today, spent 6+ hours at the hipster coffee shop inhaling caffeine and working on the novel. Am now exhausted, twitchy and unable to stop thinking about ceramic dolls.

How're you all doin'?

I sold all my comics to Half Price Books and got like $20 for them. Curse the spurious investments of my twentysomething self!

Ouch! Yeah, I'm kind of figuring that all those comics I went into credit card debt over are mine forever.

I'm watching an Alton Brown marathon. I'm now dying for a chocolate malt.

I had to look up Alton Brown. (No Food Network on my TV.) But I too now crave a chocolate malt.

It's Mr. Wizard does cooking shows. He is the bestest.

I spent the day calculating how many rats it would take to make one bear. I went by volume rather than weight.

Ugh. I am trying not to think about rats, as they are living in the walls of my apartment building.

What was the result of your calculations?

Five hundred or so, if they are large rats.

Suddenly my dog's keen interest in the rose bush is beginning to worry me...

(But my very favorite quote was from the Daily Star article Making it from the sewer up the lines into someone's toilet is a difficult trip. A four-inch pipe, called the house connection sewer, or HCS, runs from the house to a sewer main. And there's no "trap door" or other barrier in place. But if the lines are running, the rats have to hold their breath and swim uphill in the pipes against the water current.

Says Hagen Fairbanks of Wastewater Management: "If the rat makes it through your HCS, that's a determined rat."

I'm waitin' fer snow!

Went shopping for supplies, for when we're snowed in tomorrow. Chocolate covered pretzels, olives, fresh mozzarella, chocolate croissants, pumpernickel, hummus, and chips. All set.

Good luck tonight, twitch.

I was going to try to write my weekly prose but then discovered I'd already written it on Tuesday.

Ceramic dolls. Well, doll. I got all caught up in trying to figure out what was inside it, then I decided there wasn't anything.

I figured out that I like making my own curry and that Romulus killing Remus has had a much bigger impact on my life than I ever knew.
