OMG The Host. Every one of you bastards needs to see this movie. (I call you bastards out of love.) Yeah, I saw 300, and although it had its moments, it was better as a comic. For every great image there was a line of horrid dialogue or narration. I'm not saying you shouldn't see it, necessarily. But, it will be there next weekend, and The Host may not be. I'm not kidding. GO!!!

Date: 2007-03-11 02:04 pm (UTC)If I recall correctly, all of the background shots in 300 were CGI, much like Sin City. It didn't bother me a lot except in the council hall scene, which looked terrible. My main beef with the movie was that some of the great images from Miller's graphic novel were gone in a second, while they lingered over some horrible lines. That and I'd seen a show about the real Battle of Thermopylae the night before, and I was a little distracted by all the inaccuracies :-)
