Can I just say how funny it is? The NL wild card leader has 82 wins. For crying out loud, the AL East's 2nd and 3rd best teams both have that, and they're both considered terrible.
I will say nothing about impending events, on your behalf. Except, aren't playoffs exciting? There's nothing like a city galvanized with championship fever, where we stand in rows outside television stores and watch half an inning on our commutes. (This really happened to me, in 2004.)
Yeah, the NL as a whole is kind of appalling. You've got the Mets, yeah, but with seven games left half the teams in Wild Card contention are under .500! Insane.
