Jed discusses the (somewhat murky and suspect) etymology of the term "can of corn." I must admit, I thought everyone knew this term. But then, I am rather myopic when it comes to baseball stuff. Man, do I miss going to games.

Chance sent me a picture of a baby elephant eating a Christmas tree. Chance is my favorite now.

Something I keep meaning to point people at is the Blue Sky Studios blog, where the thing that is done is that a challenge is posted, such as "draw a superhero" or "draw an evil robot" and several amazing artists rise to the occasion with pieces like this or this or this or, well, just go check it out. Blue Sky is an animation company, BTW. Like, the animation company that did "Ice Age"--so the artists are a bit higher caliber than the web at large.

Cat and Girl address the problem of elephant alcoholism.

I'd never have the guts to go so far, but this guy's tattoo is kind of awesome. (NSFW.)

Also, because I have the power of BitTorrent (Bwah-hah-hah-hah!) I have already seen the first two episodes of the new season of "24," and I just want to reiterate what I think we all already knew; Alexander Siddig is a sexy, sexy man.

Baby elephant squee!

And OMG I did not know that Alexander Siddig was in S6 of 24. I'm not sure I can wait for our annual 24-a-thon this year.

Ok, since some of us have JOBS and stuff, what is the NSFW tattoo?

(I have no intarwebs at home. well, we have intarwebs, but I do not yet have my own working computer. later this month I might. we'll see).

Don't make a girl wonder. Especially one who will REALLY WANNA KNOW.

you know.

Well, it's only marginally NSFW; I thought I'd err on the side of caution. Basically it's a back tatoo with a bit of bare ass showing at the bottom. So maybe it's JBSFW. (That'd be Just Barely Safe For Work.)

STILL, better safe than not.

WHAT IS IT????? Don't leave a girl with a bunch of tattoos of her own hanging.

It's a seriously elaborate B&W Mayan figure that covers pretty much the guy's entire back. From ModBlog, actually from a little while back, but I kept forgetting to link it. Apparently he had it done in Belgium.

ahhhhhhh. OK.

I'm trying REALLY REALLY HARD not to look at any tattoos on anyone who is not in person, as I am NOT ALLOWED to get anything done for a while.

EVEN THOUGH i really really want to.

But first I need a bike. And probably a camera. and maybe even a new sewing machine and a rotary cutter for my button machine before I am allowed to get any new tattoos.

Not like that will stop me, but, you know.

I am, myself, a tattoo virgin; I like the look of them, but until recently I've not come upon any ideas that I was sure I wanted to keep forever. But I have something in mind for my first, which I plan to get once I get some of my book money. Once I'm ready I may want to pick your brain . . .

Oh pick away, pick away. I'll tell you where to go, what to do, what not to do, when to do it and when not... etc.

If I had the cash, I'd have a LOT more ink. Hell, I'd also have better work, and the work I have would actually be finished. *sigh*

I seriously have the attention span of a hummingbird. Also? a wallet like a sieve. Bothe of these have led to many half finished pieces. I kind of look like a coloring book.

It's a problem. Well, sometimes.

Look at the flickr if you do not believe me. Get a laugh, it is TOTALLY worth it. (and yep, the tattoos HAVE been colored in with markers for fun. it's funny. Just have to make sure that they aren't gonna rub off, depending on what is going on. heh)

Thank you kind sir!

Someday, the girls will be colored.

I should get a football girls one, too. OH MY GOD THAT WOULD RULE.

and the Bibliophile? Hell yeah. The best part is my ex bought that for me 2 months before he left me... in part because I (and I quote) "Read too much".

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Even better? We met working in a bookstore.

AND IT IS TRUE.

FOR REALZ.

hahahahaha. That is what I get for marrying a bitter, failed writer.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. My life is seriously hilarious. It really really is. I have done some really dumb, and very funny shit.

I wish I could tell stories in a way that made sense, because I have good ones, they just fall apart halfway through. I have no editor in my head. It sucks. I rule for about 3 or 4 sentences, then.... whoops! It's over. Just ask [livejournal.com profile] infanttyrone. He can attest to my ramblyness and nonsensical whatever. I rule for a minute, then nothin'. It sucks.

BUT - what makes me AWESOME? I recognize this, and totally do not tell stories more than a couple of sentences long.

I also do not write. I would not ever ever subject the universe to that. It would be a war crime or something.

This? Not writing.

Alexander Siddig! Haven't seen him in anything since DS9. I'm pretty excited about the new season, but I'll probably wait until it's broadcast, since it'll likely take me a while to get to it anyway. On the other hand, my reception on Fox is pretty crappy...
