I scribble out words tilted the other way. Probably the difference between me being left-handed and you right. Heh.
I once had a teacher ask me, handing back a paper, what language I had written it in. Another teacher used to joke about me and several hieroglyphics experts being the only people who could read my writing. She was wrong though, because most of the time, I can't even read it.
I can write more neatly if I take a lot of time, which made Blue Book exams tortuous. And yeah, if I look at stuff like this within two or three days I'm usually OK--after that I start to lose words. Sigh.
That's quite some handwriting you've got there, dude. I would guess it from context, except I'm having trouble establishing it. Is this a fair translation?
"I fought house-to-house with ?Bowrater? ?it? ?but?. Well, ?one? village would still have been destroyed. Burned to the ground, likely. But possibly not quite so many of his comrades would have died."
I was going to guess "I fought house-to-house with [a] barometer at her will..." which suggested to me a legion of battle-meteorologists carrying out the whims of some kind of warrior queen.
Honestly, when I first looked at it I thought it was "buns." "fought house-to-house with barricades and buns." I wish I could pull off sentences like that in this book.

I am my own language, man. Has anyone considered that maybe Linear B was just a dude with really bad chisel-man-ship?
