Archaeology! Ancient City Found in Mexico! Village Discovered Near Stonehenge! Police to Reunite! (At the f*&%ing Grammys. Now I have to watch the Grammys. Someone kill me.)

Warren Ellis subjects us all to shares an excerpt from Jeff Lint Steve Aylett's surreal parody comic "The Caterer." SMOOTHING THE CHEEK OF REALITY HAS ITS DANGERS!

Hannah links to the poem "Library" by Albert Goldbarth, which turns out to be awesome.

I have discovered that, along with those annoying ads along the side, I have been given the power of polls. Bwah-hah-hah-hah!

Here's the thing. I am, by most objective measures, a fairly geeky person. But I find that many things which are considered more or less core geek loves drive me up the wall. Perhaps you are also somewhat geeky, and encounter this same phenomenenonon. This poll is for you!

[Poll #917082]

What, everybody doesn't still love it?

Um. I still love it. I think it has problems, but I think the problems stem largely from taking risks and frequently failing. I don't always enjoy it, but I do respect it.

Hey, I'm not saying you shouldn't. I created the poll basically to just acknowledge my personal prejudices and hopefully exorcise them a bit, so I don't find myself gritting my teeth so much when other people geek out. Because when I'm geeking out I find the teeth-gritters annoying, too. It's just different tastes.

Oh, I guess I was more responding to Karen regarding the implication that BSG is no longer loved. I'm all for personal prejudices. :)

I am not without love for BG, but lately it's been strained by a strong dose of aggravation.

There's plenty of love, but the bloom is somewhat off the rose. I'm saying, it was charming when you were the lone voice of anti-BG bitching, but now that a lot of previously-blissful viewers are bitching about it too, you're not as cute.

I certainly never claimed to be cute!

You do that on purpose to fluster me, don't you?
