I've not seen quite a few on that list. I do, however, like The Fifth Element quite a lot.

I'd say pretty much all those films are worth a look. Which, you know, speaks well to the question of "The Fifth Element," so one of these days when I'm feeling like ending my life maybe I'll watch it :-)

I own Fifth Element but the reasons I like it have nothing to do with the plot. Grace notes and cool brush strokes abound. Pay no attention to the big picture. Best served on pain killers and Malibu rum.

I adore the Fifth Element because it's so utterly gorgeous, and every time I watch it I see some other little fancy throw-away moment. I don't know how many times I'd watched it before I actually noticed the box that puts her eye makeup on.

(also, the crazy dude is nino from Amelie, and I love love love the idea of space saving futureistic things that sink into the walls. That could not be less space saving!)
